James Selby Humanities, Logic, Rhetoric
Whitefield Academy's Dean of Faculty, James Selby has a BA, cum laude, in English Literature and New Testament Literature from Oral Roberts University and a Master of Divinity, cum laude, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Author and presenter at national conferences: Rhetorical Society of America, Association of Classical and Christian Schools, and Society for Classical Learning.
Sally Dodd- Kindergarten Sally has 8 years of classroom experience. She has a BA in education from the University of Kansas and considerable experience as a Kindergarten teacher, substitute teaching, in missions and church related education.
Patti Mowrer - 1st grade Patti is beginning her second year at Whitefield. She has a BA in Elementary Education from Virginia Tech University.
Liz Allegar 1st Grade
Liz holds a BA in Elementary Education and in Religious Studies from Monmouth College in Monmouth Ilinois. Mrs. Allegar has taught at Whitefield for thirteen years.
Corrie Stone 2nd Grade
Corrie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible/Elementary Education from Faith Baptist Bible College as well as her Early Childhood Teachers Certification from Iowa State University.
Becky Mercer - 3rd Grade
This is Becky's second year at Whitefield Academy. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Wheaton College and has a current Teacher's license from Indiana.
Sharon Wright 4th Grade
Sharon has a BA in English Literature from Kansas City College and Bible School. She also completed education courses at Mid America Nazarene University to receive Kansas state certification.
Melissa Gallo - 5th grade
Melissa is beginning her second year at Whitefield. She has a BA in Elementary Education from Moody Bible Institute.
Claudia Brown 6th Grade
Claudia holds a Bachelor of Science in Education-with distinction from University of Kansas, a Missouri K-12 teaching certificate in health and physical education-lifetime as well as a Masters degree in Physical Education from University of Southern California.

Kathy Kinnan Humanities, English, Rhetoric
Kathy holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. Mrs. Kinnan has taught at Whitefield for eleven years.
Jason Sells - Mathematics, Chemistry
Jason holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics-with Distinction from the University of Kansas, a Masters degree in Teaching Mathematics from University of Illinois as well as several credit hours of post graduate work, and an Advanced Placement Summer Institute in AP Physics. Jason has also been a Presenter at ACSI regional conferences.
Geoff Smith - History, Latin Bible
Geoff has a Bachelor of Science, summa cum laude, in Biblical Studies from Valley Forge Christian College, his Master of Divinity, summa cum laude, from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and Post-graduate study at Rutherford House and Stirling University in Scotland. His writings have been published in JETS and Tyndale Bulletin.
Matthew McIntosh Bible, Logic Matt has a BA in Religion and Christian Education, cum laude, from Mount Vernon Nazarene University and his Master of Theological Studies, (magna cum laude) in Biblical Studies from Nazarene Theological Seminary. Matt is currently a PhD student at the University of Manchester, Manchester, England. He is in his tenth year of teaching at Whitefield.
Dr. Perry Clark -- Science, Math Dr. Clark's undergraduate degree is in Biology for the University of Nebraska, and his medical degree is from the University of Kansas in 1988. Following medical school, he served as a surgery intern and medical officer in the U.S. Navy until 1993 and then pursued residency and certification in Pediatrics, followed by a fellowship in Neonatology, all at Childrens Mercy Hospital here in Kansas City . Upon completion of the neonatology fellowship, he worked at a successful and busy practice at Childrens Hospital in Omaha , Nebraska for over two years and then had the opportunity to return to Kansas City in 2001 to head up the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the University Of Kansas Medical Center. In 2006 Dr. Clark decided to change course and retire from medicine and pursue a life long dream of teaching. He undertook a graduate course at Avila College for the past two years and just completed his student teaching this past spring. We are thrilled to have a Godly man with this depth of experience teaching and influencing Whitefield students.
Manuel Moral - Spanish
Manuel has a BA in Theology from Montemorelos University, in Mexico; a Master of Divinity from Andrews University; a Doctor of Ministry from Andrew University and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Ministry from Andrews University. He is also studying for a Master in Spanish Language and Culture from the University of Salamanca, Spain.
Dr. Louis Schuler Latin and Music
Dr. Schuler has a BA in Music Education from St. Olaf College as well as a Master of Art in Choral Conducting from University of Iowa, a PhD in Historical Performance Practice from Washington University and is pursuing a Master of Art in Exegetical Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary.
Sarah Berger - Art 6th thru 12th grade
Sara has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in design from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute.
Lynne Dykstra Art K thru 5th grade
Lynne holds a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics Education from Iowa State University and a Teaching Certification from the State of Iowa.
Luke Swartz P.E.
Luke has a BA in Mass Communications, cum laude, from Taylor University. He is in his ninth year of teaching.
